In photography, representation is all about the relationship between the photographer and the audience. It is a way that the photographer can change the story behind the image to manipulate into their own idea which they can then inflict on to the audience. This means that the photographer themselves are in full control of the story behind their photo. Which allows them to change the atmosphere of the whole image, the feelings you get from the image and they have a power over the audience to control and change their mind as to what the image represents. Sometimes this can mean that audience stray away from the factor in the image that they should actually be focusing on and this is all because the photographer has decided to highlight another aspect of the photo that is of more importance. Therefore representation is just what the photographer wants to show to their audience and how this story can be told.
